BADMINTON RULES

Events include:

  1. Womens doubles open grade
  2. Mens doubles open grade
  3. Mixed doubles open grade
  4. Womens doubles social grade
  5. Mens doubles social grade
  6. Mixed doubles social grade

 

Conditions of Entry

  • If you do not have a partner, the controller will endeavor to find you one.
  • The controller’s decision is final.

 

Rules of play

  • Subject to the following tournament rules, the Rules of Play shall be the Laws of Badminton as adopted by the World Badminton Federation.
  • Players will be entitled to a rest period of no more than 10 minutes between matches.

 

Composition of Matches

  • Depending on the number of entries the tournament will decide if each grade will be played in a round robin series or a knock out matches or a hybrid of both.
  • Matches will be of 3 games to 21 with no setting.
  • Games to be self umpired unless organized with the controller beforehand.
  • Winners to hand in result sheet and losers to umpire next match.

 

Injuries/delays to players

  • If a player cannot carry due to injury, then the match is forfeited.
  • If a player does not turn up then the match is forfeited.
  • If a player is unduly delayed, the match is forfeited.
  • The controller’s decision is final.
